Consultant for organizations from April 1998 to Present
Independent consultant specializing in the design, production and delivery of small to medium sized information and e-commerce Web sites.

  • Worked with organizations to help them identify their goals and expectations and then presented a detailed plan for the development of a site that supports such outcomes
  • Designed the information architecture, navigation system, and visual interface for prototypes and final projects soliciting client feedback at specified stages of each project
  • Developed secure systems for information and e-commerce transactions resulting in increased program participation and higher than expected online sales
  • Trained staff to independently update sites and develop new areas of content with confidence

Web Coordinator
Rowan University, Information Resources, October 1998 to December 2000
Responsible for the development and maintenance of web-based resources that met the needs of all of the University’s audiences.

  • Coordinated the development and maintenance of over 60 office, departmental and resource Web sites and oversaw the entire University Web site representing over 500,000 page views per month
  • Implemented a University Web Style Guide as a reference tool for faculty, staff and students needing information on University Web Policy as applied to the development process
  • Redesigned the information architecture, navigation system, and visual interface of the University’s Web site in response to the communication objectives of the administration and functional needs of the site’s audience
  • Introduced user centered design and usability testing practices as a regular component in the project development process, contributing to the creation of heavily used and reliable systems that require minimal user support
  • Developed a system to ensure regular information updates of all University web sites by training over 35 site mangers in different departments to use HTML editors, creating database-driven content sites requiring individuals only possess basic word processing skills, and providing direct support from the Web Coordinator’s office
