The University wanted to provide a virtual
tour to show prospective students, alumni and other visitors what
the Rowan campus currently looks like. It should provide a glimpse
of daily life at Rowan with emphasis on the history and diversity
of the institution. The tour should entice prospective students and
visitors with an overview of the campus buildings and activities,
ultimately encouraging them to visit the campus in-person. It should
be welcoming, informative and easy to navigate.

- Conducted interviews with current and prospective students and
staff to identify the buildings and campus resources that would
serve as the basis for the tour
- Directed the script development for the voice-over audio
- Recorded and optimized the audio for use with the RealAudio
player
- Collected, digitized and prepared high quality images for the
tour
- Designed the information architecture, navigation system, and
visual interface
- Developed two separate tours, a non-audio version that was completely
user driven and another that utilized Real Audio to automatically
play the audio while advancing through the tours sections

The online tour offers an engaging presentation of the University
via multimedia glimpses of campus facilities and descriptions of
events from the perspective of students. It is heavily trafficked
and was given an award by Campustour.com, which featured the tour
for a month. According to the Admissions office, prospective students
visiting the Rowan campus come prepared to ask questions about buildings
and facilities they saw on the virtual tour and want to learn about
those which they did not already view, resulting in a very thorough
understanding of the campus.
