The Division of Information Resources at
Rowan University is made up of five offices which provide computing
and technical services, technical support, and maintenance to the
Universitys network infrastructure. In order to serve the University
community better, the Division wished to provide a web site that would
offer information about the resources available and explain how to
access these services. In doing this, Information Resources aimed
to help individuals and departments recognize the ways in which these
services could benefit them.

- Provided a brief overview of the function of each of the five
offices on the home page
- Highlighted and offered direct access from the home page to
the most commonly requested services
- Created the "IR News & Projects" area showcasing projects
that have recently been completed or that the Division is currently
involved with
- Developed a professional and consistent interface design to
improve the Divisions brand identity throughout all of the
offices Web sites
- Designed page templates to ease the maintenance and addition
of new content areas

The Division of Information Resources now has means of educating
the University community about the services it provides and can
respond to requests for support quickly and efficiently. Server
logs show that use of the "dial-in" and "res hall"
pages, describing how to connect your computer to the campus network
from on or off campus, have increased dramatically, and the support
desk has experienced a decrease in phone calls related to this issue.
The offices of the Division have begun to populate their Web sites
with FAQs and answers, helping individuals obtain quick solutions
independantly.
